We’ve seen this band grow over the years they have played at the festival and we are delighted that they are back. This year will be particularly significant as many of them have just finished their HSC. So ‘this gig will taste very sweet’. So, come and have some fun with them.
House of Monkeys is a collective of musicians whose experience and talent belie their young years. With a jazzy, funky, bluesy infused sound the band can transport you to any era from the 1920s to today!
Equally at home playing rock, pop, funk, soul, blues and jazz, they have a flexible line-up from duo to full band, and wide repertoire which they’ll happily tailor to any requirements as the perfect musical accompaniment to any special event.
At 17 and 18, the band have a collective depth of experience across a wide range of genres – including jazz, classical, musical theatre, rock, folk music, opera and more – with years of playing in some of NSW’s leading youth ensembles including Sydney Youth Orchestra, Sydney Youth Jazz Orchestra, NSW Public Schools Jazz Orchestra as well as Opera Australia (children’s chorus) plus had leading roles in Performing Arts School and Interschool musicals including Sweeney Todd, and School of Rock.
